Protea Hotel Oudtshoorn Riempie Estate

All of the rooms are circle shaped due to the very nice rondavel huts. The rondavels - similar to chalets - are traditional round shaped brick built buildings with thatched roofs. The rooms remain cool when the temperatures are high although all rooms have air con too. Rooms are en-suite and have satellite TV, telephone and table and chairs. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes including traditional South African foods. The hotel consists of round a number of thatched huts which are painted white and very pleasant looking. The main heart of the building complex is a large hut and houses the lobby, bar and restaurant. The bright reception greets guests as they enter and there is a small business centre to the left and the bar to the right. The lobby has many African carvings and a nice African theme throughout. A comfortable and very pleasant hotel set back from Oudtshoorn town centre with lots of landscaped gardens. There is an outdoor pool, plenty of parking and day tours can be organised from the hotel.
